The Sokol educated its members for an orderly life
Stanislav Řídký was born in Slatiňany on 12 October 1930. His earliest childhood memories are inseparably connected with Sokol, which he joined in 1934. He and his mother Marie Řídká took part in the 11th All-Sokol Meeting in 1948. Having completed primary school, he studied at a grammar school but had to interrupt due to a serious illness. Having recovered, he decided to change schools and entered the Institute of Modern Languages, which he successfully completed. He enlisted for mandatory military service in 1951. He got married shortly thereafter. After the fall of the communist regime, he was at the forefront of the restoration of Sokol in Slatiňany. In terms of career, he was an accountant all his life until retirement. He lived in Slatiňany in Pardubice in 2024.
