Gey Batt spent more than 8 years in Insein prison as a political prisoner. He is suffering from back pain and chest pain due to the torture and he could not lift heavy items. Gey Batt was born in U Ni Su village, Bogalay Township, Ayeyarwaddy region on 3 January 1973 and his parents are U Dway Phyu and Daw Aye Soe. He studied until grade 4. He is a Kayin ethnic and works farming. He was arrested in October 1991 after accompanying with KNU for 3 days. He was interrogated in Bogalay Police station for one month and then Court-Martial (Insein) sentenced him to 20 years imprisonment under the section 17/1, 122 and 19(h). He was released from Insein prison on 12.11.1999.
