Anna Hasáková was born on 22 February 1937 in Slovakia in the village of Radoma, Svidník district. Her father Juraj Štelmák and mother Zuzana Štelmáková worked in agriculture. In 1944 the family moved temporarily to Giraltovce, and the German army settled in Radoma to build a defence against the Carpatho-Dukla operation. Radoma was liberated by the Soviets on January 15, 1945, and the family returned to the village two months later. In 1946 they moved to the village of Běhánky in the Teplice region. Anna Hasáková finished her studies at the Higher Social School in Litoměřice with a high school diploma in 1956. In 1958 she married musician Zdeněk Hasák. Until 1960 she worked as a primary school teacher in Lhenice near Bílina. In 1960 they moved to Prague to Petřiny. In 1968 her husband travelled to West Germany with the ensemble, and in August Anna Hasáková visited him. From 1962 to 1985 she worked as a teacher and educator at the Na Petřiny primary school. She served until 2007. In 2024 she lived in Prague.
